Base Salary
$123k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical design, development, implementation, and support of on-premises and public-cloud database platforms.
- Lead hands-on architecture, design, and engineering of scalable, resilient, secure, and highly available database solutions.
- Analyze complex architectures to identify technical risks, dependencies, performance bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Design and implement enterprise database platform modernization and enhancement solutions.
- Partner with Product Owners and engineering teams to evaluate requirements and ensure effective technical implementation.
- Use cloud-native technologies to drive platform automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Improve platform performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Apply knowledge of network, compute, and storage topologies to define platform architectures.
- Provide rotational production and on-call support, troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain platform stability and availability.
- Promote engineering best practices, automation, and continuous improvement across the database platform lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or another technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of database administration experience, preferably with PostgreSQL, Couchbase, Mongo, and Cassandra.
- 4+ years of programming development experience with Python and Terraform.
- Experience with system configuration using Ansible.
- 5+ years of Linux administration experience.
- Hands-on experience deploying public-cloud network, security, compute, and database services.
- Experience coding Terraform modules with various providers.
- Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift experience is a plus.
- Ability to interpret technical and business objectives and articulate solutions.
- Willingness to learn and apply new technologies effectively.
- Willingness to provide rotational on-call support.
