Responsibilities
- Lead the conversion of prototyped computer vision algorithms into high-quality product-ready code.
- Design and implement optimization strategies for computer vision algorithms on embedded systems and mobile devices.
- Architect and review software modules and systems while providing technical leadership to engineering programs.
- Optimize algorithms for x86, GPU, multi-core ARM CPU, and DSP architectures under performance, power, and size constraints.
- Develop software in C, C++, or other selected languages, including parallelized and vectorized computation.
- Create automated software tests, troubleshoot software issues, and document software architecture.
- Coordinate with embedded systems, backend server, and computer vision engineers to improve implemented algorithms.
- Estimate project scope, duration, effort, and risk and provide project leadership and cross-company collaboration.
- Interact with management and senior customer personnel and serve as a principal customer contact when required.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, preferably specializing in computer vision and machine learning, or comparable industry experience.
- Preferred work experience of 8+ years delivering products using state-of-the-art computer vision or machine learning systems.
- Broad understanding of computer vision, including object detection, tracking, recognition, multiple-view geometry, OCR detection, camera calibration, 3D data processing, SfM/SLAM, and activity recognition.
- Experience optimizing software on embedded GPU and DSP platforms, including Nvidia and ARM architectures.
- Solid GPU programming experience using CUDA or OpenCL.
- Excellent C and C++ programming skills, including C++11 and later.
- Experience with parallelized and vectorized computation and signal-processing algorithm implementation.
- Ability to determine assignment objectives with significant latitude and provide technical and project leadership.
