Base Salary
$72k - $98k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded software products aligned with system and subsystem requirements.
- Maintain and expand existing software functionality for rail industry products.
- Perform requirements, design, architecture, and code reviews.
- Conduct unit testing and create and maintain automated unit test cases.
- Release software according to DOSE processes and guidelines.
- Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective solutions.
- Create software design, requirements, process, and architecture documentation.
- Execute and enhance the software development lifecycle.
- Investigate and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and business teams to meet product specifications, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of related experience.
- Experience with C and C++ software development.
- Experience with Bash, Python, or other scripting languages for task automation and unit testing.
- Experience with Linux or Unix-based real-time operating systems, including QNX or FreeRTOS.
- Proficiency in software, component, and interface design.
- Strong understanding of modern operating system coding techniques, IP protocols, and hardware interfaces.
- Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
- Desired experience with device drivers and board support packages.
- Desired experience with software change management, the software development life cycle, continuous integration, and Agile Scrum environments.
- Knowledge of safety-critical software, CENELEC standards, and rail industry standards.
