Base Salary

$72k - $98k/yr

Responsibilities

Design and develop embedded software products aligned with system and subsystem requirements.
Maintain and expand existing software functionality for rail industry products.
Perform requirements, design, architecture, and code reviews.
Conduct unit testing and create and maintain automated unit test cases.
Release software according to DOSE processes and guidelines.
Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective solutions.
Create software design, requirements, process, and architecture documentation.
Execute and enhance the software development lifecycle.
Investigate and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and business teams to meet product specifications, quality standards, and delivery schedules.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
1–3 years of related experience.
Experience with C and C++ software development.
Experience with Bash, Python, or other scripting languages for task automation and unit testing.
Experience with Linux or Unix-based real-time operating systems, including QNX or FreeRTOS.
Proficiency in software, component, and interface design.
Strong understanding of modern operating system coding techniques, IP protocols, and hardware interfaces.
Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
Desired experience with device drivers and board support packages.
Desired experience with software change management, the software development life cycle, continuous integration, and Agile Scrum environments.
Knowledge of safety-critical software, CENELEC standards, and rail industry standards.
