Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, maintain, and document well-defined features for user-facing applications and backend services.
  • Build interfaces, APIs, data-processing functions, background tasks, and integrations using established architecture and coding standards.
  • Write SQL queries and implement approved changes to relational data models for manufacturing applications.
  • Develop data ingestion, validation, transformation, traceability, analytics, classification, anomaly-detection, retrieval, or AI-enabled components when assigned.
  • Support integrations among manufacturing applications, databases, enterprise systems, equipment interfaces, and telemetry sources.
  • Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, resolve defects and review feedback, and support controlled production maintenance.
  • Analyze logs and data-quality issues, investigate technical problems, and escalate architectural or production-impacting decisions when needed.
  • Translate defined requirements into development tasks, acceptance criteria, estimates, and implementation plans.
  • Follow established practices for source control, testing, accessibility, security, deployment, configuration management, data privacy, and controlled changes.
  • Communicate progress, risks, findings, and support needs, and prepare technical and operating documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field completed by the start date.
  • Demonstrated programming experience through coursework, capstone projects, internships, research, or professional work using Python or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript, web application fundamentals, SQL, relational database concepts, and common data structures.
  • Familiarity with Git or another version-control system and understanding of REST APIs, client/server applications, debugging, and fundamental software testing concepts.
  • Ability to progress independently on well-defined tasks, seek support appropriately, learn unfamiliar technologies, document solutions, collaborate, and handle production data carefully.
  • Desired experience or coursework with React, TypeScript, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Oracle, unit testing, integration testing, Docker, automated build tools, data pipelines, visualization, machine learning, embeddings, large language model APIs, or retrieval-augmented generation.
  • Exposure to C#/.NET, Electron, hardware interfaces, serial communication, simulators, telemetry, MES, or other manufacturing systems is desired.
  • Interest in aerospace, manufacturing operations, process improvement, predictive maintenance, or industrial digitalization is desired.
