Responsibilities
- Assemble physical prototype rigs, sensor arrays, 3D-printed mounts, and microelectronic setups.
- Instrument physical systems and capture, clean, and preprocess high-frequency time-series sensor data.
- Build DSP pipelines using FFTs, spectral analysis, filtering, and feature extraction.
- Deploy optimized and quantized TinyML models onto Renesas microcontrollers.
- Write real-time C/C++ embedded firmware, bare-metal or RTOS drivers, and DMA buffer management.
- Implement and debug low-level SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN communications.
- Collaborate with customers and internal product teams to analyze hardware telemetry and demonstrate working solutions.
- Lead junior engineers on lab tasks, document engineering practices, and provide cross-functional technical leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- 2–3+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software, physical hardware prototyping, digital signal processing, and real-time edge computing.
- Experience with physical system fabrication, 3D printing, electrical assembly, PCB bring-up, and low-level hardware debugging.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD debugging tools.
- Strong C/C++ programming experience for constrained microcontrollers.
- Experience with bare-metal or RTOS development, DMA buffer management, and low-level peripheral drivers.
- Understanding of DSP for time-series or audio data and practical experience deploying quantized machine-learning models directly onto microcontrollers.
- Experience with TinyML, embedded firmware, physical prototype rigs, sensor data, or related hands-on lab work is central to the role.
