Responsibilities
- Design and deliver secure cloud services, platforms, and customer solutions.
- Identify security issues in existing system designs and products and recommend mitigations balancing cost, risk, and usability.
- Embed security practices throughout the software development lifecycle and apply relevant security standards and regulations.
- Test the security of software and infrastructure using appropriate security tools.
- Share security knowledge with customers and Kainos colleagues and communicate complex topics to varied audiences.
- Manage, mentor, coach, and develop a small team of staff, including supporting performance and career development.
- Provide technical direction and leadership across security initiatives and teams.
Requirements
- Experience securely designing and delivering new cloud services and solutions.
- Experience identifying security issues and recommending practical mitigations.
- Knowledge of security standards and regulations including NCSC, ISO, SOC, NIST, PCI, and GDPR.
- Deep architectural experience in AI/ML security, cloud, M365, DevSecOps, or security architecture.
- Experience in application architecture, software development, and/or infrastructure architecture.
- Experience mentoring engineers and architects and managing, mentoring, and coaching team members.
- Experience testing software and infrastructure security.
- Knowledge of network security, web application security, and cryptographic controls.
- Desirable experience with identity management, authentication and authorization products and patterns.
- Desirable experience across public, commercial, defence, or healthcare sectors and across governance, risk and compliance, operational security, supply chain security, and secure user management.
- Penetration testing qualifications such as OSCP, CREST, TIGER, or equivalent are desirable.
- Experience leading security engineers and junior staff is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
