Base Salary

$153k - $184k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define and evaluate cybersecurity controls for embedded operating systems, encryption, access controls, network security, middleware, and secure coding practices.
  • Implement and secure embedded Linux, QNX, Ethernet, cellular telematics, and cryptographic controls.
  • Conduct cross-functional activities to define requirements, identify design deficiencies, detect implementation defects, and verify product cybersecurity posture.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to integrate security into product design, development lifecycles, and software activities.
  • Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies and update security approaches, strategies, and solutions.
  • Manage relationships with external security vendors and partners and ensure effective integration of third-party security solutions.
  • Prepare and present cybersecurity-case evidence demonstrating readiness to launch products or release software versions.
  • Train internal stakeholders and provide expert cybersecurity guidance.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on engineering experience with safety-critical cyber-physical systems in areas such as automotive, aerospace, or medical systems.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field, with technical proficiencies typically acquired through 6+ years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices for embedded, automotive, and autonomous systems.
  • Strong working experience with embedded operating systems including Linux, QNX, and AUTOSAR, as well as embedded networking.
  • Proficiency in identifying software and hardware weaknesses and security vulnerabilities and documenting them through threat modeling.
  • Experience in the autonomous vehicle industry, particularly L4 self-driving technology, is preferred.
  • Experience with embedded automotive systems, embedded threat modeling, and Classic AUTOSAR is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cybersecure development lifecycles such as Microsoft SDL, ISO 21434, or AVCDL is preferred.
