Responsibilities
- Design and oversee CI/CD pipelines for automated network testing, digital-twin validation, and zero-downtime configuration deployments.
- Establish Network-as-Code, GitOps, source-control, coding-standard, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices for network state and infrastructure design.
- Develop reusable network automation frameworks and playbooks to eliminate manual operational work at global scale.
- Design and optimize software-defined networks, overlay networks, and container networking for multi-region cloud and bare-metal environments.
- Act as a Tier 4 technical authority for complex network, routing, overlay, underlay, and production issues.
- Build telemetry, monitoring, alerting-as-code, and automated remediation platforms for network performance, security, and capacity.
- Partner with enterprise design, SRE, and platform teams to deliver resilient, secure, and multi-tenant-isolated network infrastructure.
- Engineer and optimize VXLAN, OVN, Project Calico, Kubernetes networking, firewalls, load balancers, routing protocols, and security policies.
- Create automated validation suites for network health, state, routing tables, security groups, ACLs, and firewall rules before and after deployment.
- Drive code-based infrastructure definitions and dynamic technical documentation using tools such as NetBox and Git Markdown.
- Mentor engineers, lead design review boards, and drive cross-functional engineering initiatives in a 24/7 SaaS environment.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Network Engineering, DevOps, or SRE, focused on large-scale network design, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Expert proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, Python, and network automation libraries such as Netmiko, Nornir, or NAPALM.
- Deep expertise designing and operating large-scale SDN and overlay networks, especially VXLAN, OVN, and Project Calico.
- Advanced enterprise Kubernetes networking knowledge, including CNIs, Ingress controllers, Service Mesh, and Kube-Proxy behavior.
- Extensive experience with Cisco Nexus, Arista, Versa SD-WAN, Palo Alto, and Fortinet network and security fabrics.
- Experience with F5 BIG-IP AS3, Cloudflare APIs, Octavia LBaaS, and API-driven application delivery and load balancing.
- Deep Linux internals and networking expertise, including network namespaces, virtual interfaces, eBPF, iptables, and kernel-level routing.
- CCIE-level or equivalent mastery of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and EVPN, plus knowledge of overlay-to-underlay network mapping.
- Experience designing and scaling CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions and implementing TDD for infrastructure changes.
- Advanced packet-analysis and observability experience with tcpdump, Wireshark, NetFlow, and log aggregation platforms.
- Proven technical leadership through mentoring, design review leadership, and cross-functional initiative ownership.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to executive stakeholders.
- Telecommunications experience with VoIP, RTP, SIP peering or trunking, and Session Border Controllers is highly advantageous.
