Base Salary
$190k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with product teams on high-impact performance and observability projects.
- Investigate major incidents, identify architectural causes, and drive systemic improvements.
- Design, build, and promote reusable resilience patterns and tooling.
- Own and advance Persona’s observability strategy, standards, and supporting tools.
- Mentor and coach engineers across the organization on performance and reliability.
- Establish and drive an Operational Excellence review process.
- Help define and measure SLOs for critical user journeys.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building and shipping complex production systems.
- Deep expertise in observability metrics, logs, and traces, including instrumenting complex distributed systems.
- Experience building robust, well-tested libraries and tools that improve other engineers’ work.
- Ability to mentor engineers and explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Ability to build trust, listen empathetically, and influence teams without direct authority.
- Performance, scalability, or observability experience is preferred but not required for candidates with a deep engineering foundation.
- Comfort with ambiguity, initiative, and the ability to drive projects in a new and evolving environment.
