Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of core Windows Print and Scan platform components.
- Own platform architecture and the reliability, security, performance, maintainability, and long-term quality of critical production features.
- Set technical direction across Windows OS internals, cloud-connected services, and industry standards.
- Drive standards-based adoption, customization, extensibility, and innovation with internal teams and external ecosystem partners.
- Use data, telemetry, and customer insights to guide architectural and reliability investments.
- Apply AI-assisted engineering practices to improve developer productivity, code quality, operational effectiveness, and customer outcomes.
- Conduct design reviews, mentor engineers, and promote effective engineering practices.
- Meet security, privacy, and compliance expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of technical engineering experience and 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building production-quality systems.
- Strong C and/or C++ coding experience for production-quality systems.
- Experience with system design, debugging using logging, telemetry, and diagnostics, and shipping reliable, secure, and maintainable software.
- Experience working on Windows OS platform components, system services, or drivers.
- Experience applying security hardening, diagnosability, and reliability engineering practices.
- Experience collaborating with hardware partners or external vendors.
- Familiarity with cloud-connected services and distributed systems.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, drive technical decisions, and mentor other engineers.
- Demonstrated growth mindset.
