Responsibilities
- Design systems architecture and deliver software and tools that improve infrastructure availability, performance, efficiency, and scalability.
- Provide technical leadership to architect, design, and build resilient large-scale infrastructure while reducing operational overhead.
- Drive automation for capacity planning, configuration management, performance tuning, monitoring, and root cause analysis.
- Lead the global batch compute team and advance YARN and batch Kubernetes systems.
- Define standards for testing, monitoring, and alerting and oversee complex organization-level incident management.
- Lead large-scale engineering projects through requirements, development, and global productionization while aligning stakeholders around a technical vision.
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional experience in backend development and building large-scale distributed systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience leading organization-wide adoption of frameworks, coding best practices, and strategic technical initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate architectural problems or opportunities and address them with leadership.
- Experience leading large-scale engineering projects through all lifecycle stages.
- Expertise defining testing, monitoring, and alerting standards and overseeing complex incident management.
- Experience creating organization-wide frameworks that improve developer velocity and reduce technical debt.
- Preferred experience with YARN, Kubernetes, containers, Flink, Kafka, developer tools, SDKs, abstractions, GCP, and cloud-native infrastructure.
