Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and operate automated preventive and detective guardrails across enterprise AWS environments.
  • Build enterprise-wide controls that prevent or automatically remediate high-risk cloud misconfigurations and improve protection for internet-facing systems.
  • Enhance Unified Vulnerability Management workflows and automate vulnerability intake, enrichment, ticketing, prioritization, and response.
  • Develop engineering solutions that improve security detection, triage, remediation velocity, and measurable risk reduction.
  • Implement automated security checks and product security maturity metrics in Backstage using telemetry and Security Scorecard outputs.
  • Maintain continuity of CSPM coverage and dependent integrations, deliver a replacement CSPM proof of concept, and address capability gaps with supplemental guardrails.
  • Document designs and architecture, participate in code and design reviews, and contribute to engineering standards and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with extensive exposure to software engineering practices and demonstrated full-stack proficiency.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Deep understanding of AWS, including IAM, KMS, EC2, EventBridge, ECS, Config, CloudTrail, CloudFormation, and Lambda, using CloudFormation, CDK, or Serverless Framework.
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewalling.
  • Experience establishing software engineering guidelines, conducting code and design reviews, and documenting and presenting architecture artifacts.
  • Ability to proactively define guardrails and operate effectively in fast-changing environments.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
  • Preferred experience includes pair or mob programming, DevOps and CI/CD automation, cloud and application security, platform engineering, open-source contribution, SQL or NoSQL databases, advanced Agentic Engineering, or AIDLC.
  • AWS professional-level or AWS Security Specialty certification is a plus.
