Responsibilities

  • Define technical standards, architectural principles, engineering practices, and technical roadmaps for the platform.
  • Design, build, test, deploy, and support scalable software across the frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Improve system performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability, code quality, and technical debt management.
  • Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and knowledge-sharing resources.
  • Collaborate with product management, UX, data, support, and engineering leadership on customer-focused solutions.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide guidance in design reviews, code reviews, and project planning.
  • Participate in hiring activities, candidate evaluation, and technical interviews.
  • Evaluate and implement Agentic AI and AI-assisted development solutions, workflows, and lifecycle practices.
  • Promote responsible AI adoption with appropriate governance, security, compliance, data privacy, and human oversight.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive technology adoption, process improvements, and organizational change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating expert-level programming competency and technical leadership.
  • Typically 5+ years of professional software development experience with progression into technical leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience leading complex technical projects from design through production delivery and supporting large-scale production systems.
  • Experience with technical decision-making, architectural direction, engineering best practices, scalable distributed systems, cloud-native applications, API design, and service-oriented systems.
  • Proficiency with C#, Angular, SQL, Linux, Git, Docker, AWS, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, containerization, orchestration, performance tuning, database optimization, caching, scalability, secure software development, and risk management.
  • Ability to influence technical decisions, establish direction across teams, mentor engineers at multiple levels, and balance technical and business objectives.
  • Preferred experience with public-sector software, budgeting, financial planning, performance management, Priority Based Budgeting, decision-support platforms, AI-assisted development tools, agentic workflows, responsible AI practices, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, observability platforms, cloud operations, or relevant cloud certifications.
