Responsibilities
- Write software to automate repetitive and manual administrative tasks.
- Build observability platforms using tools such as Grafana to monitor system performance and anticipate issues.
- Conduct post-failure analyses to determine root causes and improve future responses.
- Forecast system resource usage to help cloud servers handle traffic or data spikes.
- Develop and improve highly available distributed storage services for large-scale cloud workloads.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience developing commercial software in distributed environments.
- Proficiency in a high-level language such as Java, C++, or Go.
- Knowledge of provisioning tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and storage and networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and iSCSI.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms.
- Expertise with deployment pipelines and monitoring tools such as Grafana.
- Ability to write contextual instructions and manage memory for AI agents.
- BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to the functional area.
- Independent judgment and demonstrated competence in the relevant area; project leadership or supervision experience may be included.
