Staff Platform Security Engineer (100% Remote within Spain)

Responsibilities
- Secure and maintain the underlying platform infrastructure against vulnerabilities, threats, and attacks.
- Develop and maintain vulnerability-management and continuous-compliance platforms for Global Security.
- Develop security policies and controls for CNI and service-mesh technologies.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across several continents.
- Maintain CI/CD systems and ensure services are deployed with high availability.
- Audit systems, support secure migrations, resolve platform misconfigurations and vulnerabilities, and provide application-security guidance.
- Collaborate on compliance, risk management, data protection, encryption, networking standards, and secure CSP integrations.
- Support escalated security incidents such as DDoS and abuse cases, fix urgent issues, and optimize performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Automate security and platform work using Bash and Go tools or scripts.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience related to security.
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes and securing container-orchestration platforms.
- Experience maintaining and developing security policies for CNI or service-mesh technologies such as Calico or Cilium.
- Experience scanning for and managing vulnerabilities at scale.
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault.
- Knowledge of Terraform and popular CI/CD tools.
- Experience building scalable, secure, production high-availability environments using AWS.
- Knowledge of network-security services such as AWS WAF and Cloudflare.
- Ability to develop automation tools or scripts in Bash or Go.
- English communication skills at a minimum B2 level.
- Ability to gain stakeholder support for security and best practices.
- Knowledge of security standards and practices including ISO 27001, C5, and SOC 2 is relevant to the role.
