Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions using Python.
- Create and extend test harnesses, simulators, stubs, drivers, message encoders, decoders, and test utilities.
- Validate integrations involving TCP/UDP communications, binary protocols, message brokers, gRPC, and file-based interfaces.
- Develop test strategies using boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, robustness testing, and risk-based approaches.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Produce test specifications, traceability matrices, execution reports, and coverage metrics.
- Collaborate with customer engineering teams to investigate issues and define validation strategies.
- Support verification and validation in safety-critical and highly regulated environments.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in test automation, software testing, or software engineering.
- Strong Python programming skills and hands-on experience developing automated test solutions.
- Working knowledge of C/C++ sufficient to read production code and write or adapt stubs, drivers, and message-processing components.
- Experience testing TCP/UDP sockets, binary communication protocols, JMS, TIBCO EMS or similar messaging systems, gRPC services, and file-based integrations.
- Experience building custom testing frameworks, simulators, or test harnesses.
- Strong understanding of test design techniques and quality engineering principles.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD environments and troubleshooting Linux systems.
- Experience in safety-critical or regulated industries such as aviation, air traffic management, rail, automotive, defence, medical devices, or energy.
- Strong documentation and traceability practices with fluent English communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with ASTERIX, AFTN/AMHS, OLDI, flight planning and surveillance systems, safety standards such as DO-178C, DO-278A, ED-109A, or ED-153, FAT/SAT, performance and load testing, Wireshark or tcpdump, HMI test automation, French, and test automation architecture or team leadership.
