Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CFD solvers for complex aircraft configurations.
- Implement discretization, time-integration, turbulence-modeling, and solver-acceleration methods for the Navier-Stokes equations.
- Support high-order CFD methods for scale-resolving aerodynamic simulations.
- Develop reduced-order models for aeroelasticity, optimization, flight-control studies, and digital-twin applications.
- Scale scientific codes on HPC platforms using MPI, OpenMP, and parallel-programming practices.
- Maintain software quality through CI/CD, regression testing, benchmarking, code reviews, and documentation.
- Validate CFD tools against wind-tunnel, flight-test, and reference data.
Requirements
- PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong background in CFD, compressible aerodynamics, Navier-Stokes solvers, and turbulence modeling.
- Experience developing scientific software in C++ and Python.
- Practical experience with Linux, HPC environments, MPI, and OpenMP.
- Knowledge of reduced-order modeling techniques including PCA, POD, PROM, and projection-based modeling.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, benchmarking, and peer code reviews.
- Eligibility to work with controlled aerospace data, including CGD and/or ITAR-restricted programs.
- Fluency in English and French.
- Experience with high-order CFD methods such as DG, Spectral Element, Flux Reconstruction, or CPR is desirable.
- Experience with GPU acceleration using CUDA, HIP, Kokkos, or similar technologies is desirable.
- Exposure to aeroelasticity, FSI, flight controls, optimization, or aircraft digital twins is desirable.
- Experience validating CFD simulations using wind-tunnel or flight-test data is desirable.
