Base Salary
$144k - $214k/yr
Responsibilities
- Embed within customer engineering teams, understand their business and technical constraints, and translate requirements into AI-enabled production system designs.
- Build production AI applications including retrieval pipelines, workflow automation, API orchestration layers, and data integrations.
- Integrate foundation models, customer data sources, and existing applications while optimizing latency, reliability, and cost.
- Own the software lifecycle from scoping and design through coding, testing, deployment, operations, maintenance, and incident resolution.
- Implement monitoring, evaluations, guardrails, and CI/CD for healthy AI systems and resolve operational root causes.
- Mentor and train new team members, participate in code reviews, and coach others on high-quality software development.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer AI adoption and create reusable deployment patterns and software improvements.
- Travel 30–50% to customer environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Current, active US Government TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and US citizenship.
- 2+ years of experience working in an Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environment.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with agentic and spec-driven development; experience developing AI agents is a plus.
- Experience with AI tools including evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, and prompt engineering.
- Preferred experience with AWS services and customer production environments.
- Preferred experience building or deploying AI/ML applications in production environments.
- Preferred background as a founder, engineering lead, or startup builder with high ownership and urgency.
- Preferred experience with React, TypeScript, Python, and/or Go.
- Preferred experience interfacing with customers, leading technical projects with external stakeholders, and scaling end-to-end production systems.
