Responsibilities
- Build Python infrastructure for real-time diagnostics and health monitoring of CAN, CAN-FD, and Ethernet vehicle communication networks.
- Develop automated verification and validation pipelines for vehicle network communication, diagnostic functionality, and system health across test benches and vehicle fleets.
- Create diagnostic checks and monitoring workflows for in-vehicle network security and cryptographic mechanisms, including analysis of network performance and timing margins.
- Use AI-based developer tooling and code-generation workflows to prototype, test, and scale modular diagnostic and verification software.
- Collaborate with Systems Architects, Network Engineers, and Vehicle Security Engineers to analyze network data, troubleshoot integration issues, and refine vehicle requirements.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in Python for modular software infrastructure, automated verification pipelines, and data analysis tools.
- High fluency and practical experience with AI-based coding and developer tools for building end-to-end software projects.
- Solid understanding of communication networks and protocols, ideally including CAN and CAN-FD.
- Preferred experience with CAN, CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet, diagnostic protocols, cantools, or python-can.
- Preferred understanding of cryptography and network security concepts such as message authentication codes and cryptographic authentication.
- Preferred experience with automated testing or verification pipelines, pytest, hardware-in-the-loop systems, embedded test benches, autonomous vehicles, robotics, ROS/ROS2, Formula SAE, EcoCAR, or embedded systems projects.
