Responsibilities

  • Perform 100% hands-on software development, production support, bug fixes, and user management.
  • Design and develop trading tools and technical solutions for pre-trade, trade capture, and pricing in the FICC asset class.
  • Analyze legacy systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Develop transformation metrics and KPIs and report progress to senior leadership.
  • Design and develop new systems while evaluating existing systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with trading, risk, and P&L teams to build scalable and robust solutions.
  • Develop proof-of-concept solutions to validate technical feasibility.
  • Communicate proactively with management and business stakeholders.
  • Lead pilots evaluating new technologies and methodologies.
  • Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident analysis.
  • Establish validation standards for AI-assisted development, including secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
  • Use software development lifecycle tooling and approved automation capabilities to improve engineering outcomes at scale.

Requirements

  • Formal software engineering training or certification and 5+ years of applied experience with Java and the Core Spring Framework, including Spring Boot and Spring Cloud; Python or C++ are also acceptable.
  • Experience developing software with Kafka, IBM MQ, Tibco, and AMPS as messaging hubs.
  • Experience delivering transformation projects in the fixed-income trading systems domain.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale.
  • Experience supporting complex projects involving system design, testing, and operational stability.
  • Expertise in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
  • Preferred: 10+ years of software development experience using Java, Python, C++, or SQL.
  • Preferred: experience as a lead software engineer for a small team.
  • Preferred: graduate degree in computer science or engineering.
  • Preferred: AI/ML and NLP knowledge.
