Responsibilities

  • Identify performance requirements and risks, execute load and stress tests, analyze bottlenecks, and improve response times, throughput, and resource utilization.
  • Build and use monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, service health indicators, and telemetry to diagnose systems and detect regressions.
  • Analyze and optimize application and system behavior, validate improvements through measurement and testing, and troubleshoot complex issues using profiling and diagnostic tools.
  • Write, review, test, debug, document, and maintain efficient software applications and systems, including automated tests with JUnit and Selenium.
  • Lead or contribute to the design, development, deployment, and architectural review of complex software systems.
  • Conduct root cause analyses, improve service health and quality, and implement preventive measures.
  • Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and promote strong coding, maintainability, observability, and testing practices.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and advocate for improvements to team innovation and productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 4 years of professional software development experience.
  • Deep expertise in one or more of C, C++, C#, .NET, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Extensive experience with software development practices and design patterns.
  • Proven experience delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency with GitHub and JIRA or comparable version-control and work-tracking systems.
  • Understanding of cloud technologies and DevOps principles, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, CI/CD and automation, test automation frameworks, mentoring, accessible technology, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
