Responsibilities
- Design and build services for data ingestion, transformation, storage, querying, and operational workflows.
- Develop shared data models, APIs, and SDKs for consistent application development.
- Design and enforce authorization, permissions, data governance, and audit trails.
- Address data consistency, schema evolution, concurrency, performance, and failure recovery across services and systems.
- Translate defense-user and applied-engineer needs into reusable software capabilities.
- Own implementation, testing, observability, debugging, deployment, and maintainability end to end.
- Use and improve AI coding tools and agentic engineering workflows while maintaining engineering quality.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture, design discussions, code reviews, and mentoring.
Requirements
- Strong practical familiarity with AI coding tools and agentic engineering workflows, including task decomposition, context provision, code review, testing, and debugging.
- A strong track record of building and operating production software with substantial ownership of complex systems.
- Experience in data engineering or transactional, analytical, or distributed systems.
- Experience building products where access control, permissions, and data governance are central.
- Broad software engineering skills spanning architecture, implementation, and production debugging.
- Strong proficiency in Python or another programming language, solid SQL skills, and the ability to work productively in Python and TypeScript environments.
- High autonomy, sound judgment, and the ability to deliver useful increments with limited supervision.
- Collaborative technical leadership skills and motivation to build software for defense institutions and industry.
- Preferred experience includes building data platforms or developer products, fine-grained authorization, multi-tenant architectures, data lineage, auditable workflows, self-hosted software, restricted networks, or LLM application integration.
