Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture vision and roadmap for Lingo’s cloud SaaS platform.
- Define architecture principles, reference designs, standards, APIs, data models, and infrastructure patterns.
- Lead architecture and design reviews, document decisions, and manage technical debt and trade-offs.
- Assess and improve platform scalability, reliability, performance, cost, and security as the product grows.
- Architect mobile-to-cloud services for iOS and Android, including device synchronization, offline handling, and secure data upload.
- Design high-throughput ingestion pipelines for continuous biosensor and user-generated data.
- Define backend-for-frontend patterns, API contracts, versioning strategies, authentication, authorization, and rate limiting.
- Design storage architectures and lifecycle policies for time-series biosensor data, user profiles, and derived insights.
- Partner with Data Engineering on analytics data flows, lineage, and governance.
- Integrate ML models and AI services into production systems with appropriate reliability and monitoring.
- Lead proofs of concept, review code, engage in technical details, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in an architect, principal, or technical lead role for large-scale cloud or SaaS platforms.
- Experience architecting cloud-native backends serving mobile applications at consumer scale.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and API design using REST, GraphQL, or gRPC.
- Strong production-scale experience with Azure cloud services or equivalent platforms.
- Experience designing data storage and processing for high-volume or time-series data.
- Experience integrating ML models or AI services into production systems, including serving, monitoring, and reliability.
- Experience handling sensitive data under HIPAA, PHI, GDPR, or similar privacy frameworks.
- Hands-on prototyping and code review ability with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred experience in digital health, wearables, IoT, fitness, or consumer health technology.
- Preferred familiarity with FHIR, HL7, Apple HealthKit, Google Health Connect, consent management, privacy-by-design, Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, SQL, NoSQL, data lakes, and blob storage.
