Responsibilities
- Own, operate, harden, and evolve KMS, key management, BYOK, envelope encryption, and signing pipelines across cloud and on-premises deployments.
- Extend PHI/PII scrubbing and strengthen customer data-protection foundations.
- Own encryption at rest and tenant isolation for the storage layer.
- Maintain and expand secure-by-default templates and reference implementations embedded in the software development lifecycle.
- Lead threat modeling across execution engines, connector trust boundaries, and multi-tenant isolation.
- Improve security scanning coverage, signal quality, and CI enforcement so critical findings do not reach production.
- Translate audit, compliance, and incident-response requirements into implementation in the codebase.
- Write production code and own security-critical systems as a technical partner to the Core engineering lead.
Requirements
- At least four years of production experience building security-critical systems, with substantial implementation experience.
- Practical expertise in cryptography, encryption, KMS, secrets handling, key management, and signing.
- Ability to design secure architectures and serve as a technical peer to senior engineers.
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS isolation and data-isolation guarantees for regulated customers.
- Strong secure-coding skills in Python, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Experience integrating security checks and gates into CI/CD pipelines.
- Bonus: cloud and API security experience with GCP, Azure, or AWS.
- Bonus: experience securing on-premises, self-hosted, or air-gapped deployments.
- Bonus: experience in regulated healthcare, finance, or similar domains.
- Bonus: familiarity with AI/LLM platform security, including agent execution, connector trust boundaries, prompt risk, and tool-call risk.
- Bonus: startup or growth-stage experience.
