Base Salary
$156k - $251k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering teams to define and implement infrastructure-as-a-service products that improve deployment speed and operational effectiveness.
- Build and operate internal software frameworks for large-scale asynchronous and background processing.
- Extend Sidekiq-based frameworks to reliably execute distributed jobs at massive scale.
- Own scaling behavior, reliability guarantees, failure modes, operational safety, observability, and debuggability of distributed processing systems.
- Develop and maintain custom infrastructure services, centralized tooling, automation frameworks, and capacity-management systems.
- Build automation that reduces operational toil for engineering teams.
- Participate in a PagerDuty rotation, respond to availability incidents, support engineers, and convert incident learnings into system improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience.
- Experience designing large-scale API-driven systems and working with application and systems observability.
- Experience building and automating Kubernetes-based operators and custom resources.
- Ability to reason about system interfaces, boundaries, edge cases, failure modes, behaviors, and implementations.
- Ability to collaborate across global remote teams, document work, deliver quickly, and manage multiple tasks and expectations.
