Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, GCP, and Kafka.
- Build and support scalable REST APIs and event-driven solutions using Kafka and cloud-native messaging patterns.
- Design data models and optimize performance using Bigtable and related cloud databases.
- Own project technical deliverables and communicate proposed solutions to business and technology stakeholders.
- Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, security, product, business, and operations teams.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, technical mentoring, troubleshooting, and debugging.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, deployment automation, and monitoring.
- Lead development team members and may serve as project leader for specific projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5–7+ years of experience in software engineering and enterprise application development.
- At least 3 years of professional experience leading development team members and partnering with business and operational partners.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, distributed applications, and J2EE.
- Experience with GCP services, cloud architecture, Apache Kafka, Bigtable or similar NoSQL databases, and cloud-native solution development.
- Experience with API security, versioning, monitoring, lifecycle management, authentication, authorization, JWT, API gateways, and Swagger.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Cloud Run, BigQuery, SQL, Oracle, MySQL, DB2, and relational database development.
- Experience with Git, SVN, CVS, Jenkins, Apache Maven, CI/CD strategies, API testing, and build automation.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, observability, cloud security, Agile, Scrum, and Kanban.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Experience with fraud technology and Java object-oriented development is required or strongly relevant; digital assets, tokenization, blockchain, digital payments, and financial services platforms are advantageous.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and establish effective relationships with leadership, peers, business partners, and team members.
