Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of advanced robotics and AI-driven systems.
- Drive development of autonomous navigation, perception, scene understanding, and intelligent decision-making capabilities.
- Define and lead the AI/ML strategy for robotics platforms, particularly intelligent vacuum systems.
- Architect multimodal perception, autonomous decision-making, behavioral intelligence, continuous learning, and edge AI systems.
- Lead the ML lifecycle across data collection, labeling, governance, training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Establish standards for ML reliability, safety, explainability, and OTA deployment.
- Evaluate and operationalize emerging technologies including foundation models and vision-language models for robotics.
- Set technical direction, review critical AI/ML designs, manage technical risks, and support product roadmaps.
- Mentor senior and junior engineers and build organization-wide technical capability.
- Establish safe and effective GenAI practices using tools such as Copilot and Anthropic to improve engineering productivity and quality.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in robotics software, AI, or embedded systems, including leadership experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in C++ and Python with strong architectural design capability for AI-driven robotics systems.
- Extensive experience delivering end-to-end AI/ML systems at production scale from data through deployment.
- Deep expertise in robot autonomy, multimodal vision and LiDAR perception, SLAM, mapping, and semantic scene understanding.
- Strong knowledge of reinforcement learning, adaptive systems, self-supervised learning, and foundation models applied to robotics.
- Proven experience scaling ML platforms and pipelines, including data strategy, training, validation, evaluation, and ML deployment pipelines.
- Advanced expertise in edge AI optimization, including hardware-aware tuning and latency, accuracy, and power trade-offs across CPU, GPU, and NPU systems.
- Domain expertise in vacuum robotics or autonomous consumer products, including intelligent cleaning behaviors and personalization.
- Demonstrated ability to define AI/ML technical strategy and roadmaps and influence teams as a robotics AI/ML subject matter expert.
- Proven leadership in technical direction, mentorship, capability building, and delivering complex systems to production.
- Advanced experience scaling GenAI tools across teams and establishing best practices for Copilot and Anthropic usage.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
