Base Salary
$140k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own software projects end-to-end from ambiguous requirements through production delivery.
- Design and implement scalable, efficient APIs for robotic control systems.
- Diagnose root causes, resolve difficult technical problems, and provide second-level support for customer escalations.
- Develop algorithms and software optimizations to improve robotic system performance, processing speed, and error rates.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, system architects, product managers, and international colleagues.
- Track project milestones and report status, risks, and tradeoffs to stakeholders and senior management.
- Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews focused on clarity, correctness, and maintainability.
- Provide technical guidance on robotics software and advocate for new technologies to improve the software stack.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience; 7+ years is preferred.
- Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and system design, including designing, debugging, and operating scalable production APIs.
- Demonstrated ownership of projects from ambiguity through delivery and accountability for outcomes.
- Ability to independently unblock difficult technical work under ambiguity and incomplete requirements.
- Strong written communication and proactive communication of status, risks, and decisions.
- Experience mentoring more junior developers.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a similar field is preferred.
- Experience in robotics or a similar field is preferred.
- Ability to travel 25%.
