Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and operate backend services for context ingestion, indexing, retrieval orchestration, API access, source configuration, and system administration.
  • Build a scalable multi-tenant SaaS foundation with tenant isolation, usage tracking, quotas, audit logs, background jobs, and reliable service boundaries.
  • Develop APIs and service interfaces for AI agents, MCP tools, CLIs, and internal applications to retrieve context, provenance, confidence signals, and warnings.
  • Make architecture and product tradeoffs as the project evolves from prototype and internal dogfooding to production-grade SaaS.
  • Instrument and operate services using metrics, logs, traces, alerts, dashboards, and observability tools.
  • Shape architecture, service boundaries, storage choices, API contracts, deployment patterns, and engineering practices for a new product area.
  • Collaborate across product, infrastructure, and engineering teams and communicate effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Take ownership of AI solutions and ensure they are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with user workflows.

Requirements

  • Experience building production-grade, user-facing software systems and delivering software actively used by customers or users.
  • Strong engineering skills with the ability to tackle complex problems, make pragmatic decisions, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and frameworks, including LLMs, prompt engineering, and applications powered by GenAI.
  • Comfort releasing prototypes, collecting feedback, iterating quickly, and working through ambiguity.
  • Proven initiative, project ownership, and ability to define scope in loosely defined environments.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills.
  • Exposure to cloud-native environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience using observability tools to understand and troubleshoot system behavior.
  • Experience with agent frameworks or multi-agent workflows is a bonus.
  • Experience as a data analyst or with data platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, or Databricks is a bonus.
  • Experience building tools for data engineering is a bonus.
