Base Salary

$183k - $275k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain orchestration for performance benchmarks across physical bench-top systems, integrated as merge-blocking and release-blocking quality gates.
  • Build monitoring, alerting, and self-healing automation while tracking fleet utilization, failure rates, capacity, and infrastructure risks.
  • Design and build data pipelines that process CPU/GPU utilization, memory bandwidth, end-to-end latency, and scheduling-jitter metrics at scale.
  • Create dashboards and automated regression detection, and collaborate with Data Science on variance analysis, significance testing, and experimentation methodology.
  • Guide OS and system-level configuration for bench hardware, including Linux kernel tuning, boot infrastructure, networking, and hardware bring-up.
  • Own benchmarking fleet planning across hardware generations and provide data-backed recommendations on testing coverage, throughput, cost, and service-level commitments.
  • Set the platform roadmap, make architectural decisions, represent platform needs to leadership, and collaborate with Hardware Engineering, NPI, SRE, Perception, Behavior, and Data Science teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and working proficiency in C++.
  • Experience building data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, storage, and visualization, with familiarity with SQL and analytical workflows.
  • Deep experience with Linux systems, including kernel configuration, boot debugging, systemd units, networking, storage, compute, or bare-metal infrastructure.
  • Experience setting technical vision and roadmaps, aligning stakeholders, identifying cross-functional partners, and briefing senior engineering leadership on trade-offs.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted development tooling such as Claude Code and applying judgment to AI-generated output.
  • Bonus: experience with performance engineering tools including perf, Perfetto, pprof, eBPF, NVIDIA Nsight Systems, or NVIDIA CUPTI.
  • Bonus: experience in robotics or autonomous vehicles, particularly with the NVIDIA DriveOS stack.
