Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-volume business logic running on mainframe systems.
- Monitor architecture, identify optimization opportunities, and maintain mainframe application performance.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions in mission-critical applications.
- Extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services.
- Collaborate on modernization efforts that enable cloud and mobile applications to interact with mainframe data.
Requirements
- Experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects.
- Strong coding and software development experience with Java, Python, .NET, or similar languages.
- Experience developing scalable and robust software using software development methodologies.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML, JSON, and REST-based web services.
- Knowledge of architecture design, microservices, Docker and Kubernetes containers, and messaging queues.
- Deep understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Certification in one or more of Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is preferred; Kyndryl can support obtaining certifications.
- Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices is preferred.
