Responsibilities
- Develop new and transform existing trading applications and APIs for RBC Wealth Management stakeholders and clients.
- Lead technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform trading application systems.
- Create and review high-level and detailed technical designs based on business and system requirements.
- Develop code, technical documentation, automated unit tests, and project estimates.
- Support QA and UAT testing and contribute to project completion within budget and schedule.
- Identify risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and evaluate business and third-party vendor solutions.
- Document requirements, designs, progress, and issues using tools such as Confluence and Jira.
- Collaborate with architects, subject matter experts, vendors, stakeholders, and business partners.
- Facilitate meetings and information-gathering sessions, including JAD sessions.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of overall professional software development experience with .NET technologies across the full software development life cycle.
- Advanced knowledge and proven experience designing and building web applications and APIs with .NET Core.
- Experience developing stored procedures for SQL-based databases such as MS SQL Server or Oracle.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, object-oriented programming, and software development best practices.
- Experience with professional engineering practices including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes, and testing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- University or college degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred experience with frontend technologies such as WPF, Angular, and JavaScript.
- Preferred experience with cloud-based software development on Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience with stream-based development using technologies such as Solace, Kafka, and SignalR.
- Preferred familiarity with DevOps pipelines and tools including GitHub Actions, Jira, and Confluence.
