Base Salary
$131k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and implement metrics, traces, dashboards, logs, and alerts for production systems.
- Develop incident response playbooks, escalation procedures, operational runbooks, and postmortem practices.
- Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets with product and engineering teams.
- Participate in production on-call rotations and promote automation, self-healing, and reduced manual intervention.
- Contribute to compliant production deployment, change-management, infrastructure-as-code, and disaster recovery processes.
- Improve reliability across production systems and services, including through fire drills and tabletop exercises.
- Partner with engineering, product, laboratory, TPM, regulatory, quality, and compliance stakeholders.
- Document operational standards, mentor peers, and help build the SRE practice and team strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles.
- Experience deploying cloud infrastructure through automation tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Bicep/ARM.
- Hands-on experience operating production workloads in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, including AKS, GKE, or EKS.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills in distributed systems.
- Experience with observability platforms such as DataDog, Prometheus/Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- Ability to define and implement metrics, dashboards, and alerting.
- Ability to work autonomously and own technical outcomes.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking architectures, and automation.
- Python or Go experience is preferred.
- Experience in regulated healthcare, biotech, or financial environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with FDA or HIPAA compliance-driven change management and release processes is preferred.
- Experience with Incident.io, ServiceNow, Opsgenie, or PagerDuty is preferred.
- Experience with GCP and Azure, CI/CD deployment strategies, and change automation is preferred.
- Interest in mentorship and system reliability practices at scale is preferred.
