Base Salary
$185k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems
- Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate models into agent-based systems and AI products
- Guide junior engineers through mentorship and technical reviews
- Own architectural decisions for new product features and projects from proposal through production
- Ensure reliability, performance, and security across systems
- Contribute to a fast, high-quality, and pragmatic engineering culture
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- At least five years of experience building backend systems and distributed infrastructure
- Fluency in TypeScript and Node.js or a similar modern backend stack
- Experience with microservices, asynchronous job queues, and event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with AWS or GCP, Docker or Kubernetes, DevOps tooling, runtime infrastructure, and production observability
- Strong understanding of software engineering practices, testing, code reviews, and version control workflows
- Ability to mentor engineers, lead by example, and influence technical direction without being a pure manager
- Preferred experience with code search, code graphs, tree-sitter, static analysis tools, AI/LLM integrations, agent-based systems, or open-source contributions
