Base Salary
$125k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Bring up next-generation space-grade silicon, including internally designed system-on-chip components and peripherals.
- Develop software from early-stage bootloaders through business logic for Linux-based spacecraft and ground systems.
- Maintain and update in-house branches of Linux, Buildroot, and u-boot.
- Support secure boot and runtime security for Linux-based satellite components.
- Maintain spacecraft Ethernet networking and connectivity.
- Develop, deploy, and test spacecraft software update processes.
- Support in-house system-on-chip and peripheral components throughout their lifecycles.
- Develop and support device drivers for third-party and in-house components.
- Support OS/platform-specific test infrastructure and tools.
- Collaborate with silicon, electrical, and application software engineers from hardware prototype through on-orbit operations.
- Own the complete software lifecycle, including development, testing, and support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a science discipline, or 2+ years of professional software-development experience in lieu of a degree; internship experience is applicable.
- Development experience in C, C++, Python, and/or Rust.
- Preferred experience with upstream Linux kernel patches.
- Knowledge of networking and the Linux networking stack.
- Knowledge of computer architecture and modern secure boot flows.
- Experience with ARM embedded systems.
- Understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and continuous monitoring.
- Strong debugging, performance-optimization, and unit-testing skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and engineering skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.
Benefits
- Base salary range is $125,000.00-$165,000.00 for Level 1 and $145,000.00-$200,000.00 for Level 2.
