Base Salary
$129k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Operate production systems and drive long-term improvements to reliability, availability, performance, and efficiency.
- Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, remediate underlying bugs, and restore system health.
- Define system requirements and deliver operability features such as health monitoring, diagnostics, repair, and self-healing automation.
- Build application and system-management tools and processes that reduce manual effort and operational toil.
- Evaluate Service Level Objectives, validate monitoring thresholds with stakeholder teams, and update infrastructure as code.
- Design fleet-management automation, including safely migrating workloads to more optimal hardware types.
- Use Generative AI tools for prototyping, development, validation, testing, documentation synthesis, and operational investigations while applying appropriate security and human-in-the-loop controls.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
- Experience with Linux/Unix, DevOps practices, and Generative AI technologies.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of administrative and hands-on systems engineering experience.
- Preferred: at least 2 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Preferred: experience with automation or scripting languages such as Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, or Shell.
- Preferred: knowledge of networking protocols, security principles, and cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
