Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise applications using Oracle Forms, PL/SQL, SQL, Shell scripting, and Java.
- Develop and optimize Oracle SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, cursors, and database processes.
- Maintain Oracle Forms applications and analyze Forms triggers, procedures, libraries, modules, and database dependencies.
- Develop and maintain Unix/Linux Shell scripts for batch processing, file movement, scheduling, logging, and operational activities.
- Maintain Java-based components and enterprise integrations, including APIs.
- Provide application performance tuning, production support, technical troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
- Participate in requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, implementation, deployments, and post-production validation.
- Analyze legacy applications and identify opportunities for modernization, migration, simplification, and decommissioning.
- Review code and document dependencies, business rules, interfaces, downstream impacts, designs, support procedures, and implementation plans.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, QA, Infrastructure, Database, and other technology teams.
- Provide technical estimates, contribute to project planning, participate in code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Forms, PL/SQL, SQL, and Unix/Linux Shell scripting.
- Working experience with Java development and maintenance, including understanding and modifying existing Java applications or components.
- Experience supporting and enhancing complex legacy applications, production troubleshooting, application integrations, and cross-functional technical and business teams.
- Experience with SQL performance tuning, query optimization, batch processing, file processing, scheduling, logging, and error handling.
- Preferred experience includes Oracle Forms modernization or migration, migration to Java or web-based technologies, REST APIs, enterprise integrations, enterprise scheduling tools, Git or other source-control systems, application performance tuning, data migration and reconciliation, high-volume enterprise applications, and retail or other enterprise business systems.
- Experience with CI/CD processes and Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.
