Base Salary
$200k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision, architecture, roadmap, and implementation strategy for the Data Ocean platform.
- Design, develop, debug, and optimize production-quality C/C++ code for distributed storage services.
- Build capabilities for intelligent caching, global namespaces, data tiering, data mobility, replication, lifecycle management, and distributed metadata and control planes.
- Architect high-performance data path and control plane services across object, file, block, on-premises, and hybrid cloud storage environments.
- Lead architecture reviews, technical design discussions, performance analysis, profiling, root-cause analysis, and optimization.
- Drive technical execution across Engineering, Product Management, Architecture, infrastructure, cloud, platform, and DevOps teams.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, architecture guidance, and technical coaching.
- Champion automated unit, integration, system, scalability, and performance testing and support reliable software delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience developing enterprise storage systems or distributed systems software.
- Experience as a Principal Engineer, Senior Staff Engineer, or Technical Lead building complex distributed software platforms.
- Expert-level C/C++ programming skills and experience delivering production-quality code.
- Deep expertise in consistency models, replication, fault tolerance, distributed coordination, concurrency, and scalability.
- Strong experience with object storage, distributed file systems, block storage, and cloud storage architectures.
- Proven ability to design and deliver production-scale distributed storage platforms.
- Experience leading architecture and technical execution across cross-functional and globally distributed engineering teams.
- Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
