Responsibilities
- Design and build high-performance real-time microservices for the Horizon Cloud Platform.
- Develop primarily with asynchronous Python and Golang, using other languages when appropriate.
- Take significant ownership of key components of the distributed cloud platform stack.
- Research, write, and edit software designs, technical requirements, evaluation plans, test results, manuals, recommendations, and reports.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years of commercial experience with cloud distributed systems and high-scale designs using Golang and asynchronous Python.
- Experience building REST APIs and with cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Redis, Elasticsearch, SQL, and RabbitMQ or equivalent.
- Understanding of public cloud design considerations involving microservices, security, global network infrastructure, distributed systems, and load balancing, along with strong cloud troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with Pandas, Polars, and OLAP tools such as DuckDB or ClickHouse.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP/S.
- Experience with AWS; GCP and Azure experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle, Agile, and software engineering methodology.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Kubernetes Application Developer Certification such as CKAD is highly desirable.
