Responsibilities
- Design, write, modify, debug, test, and document new and legacy software systems.
- Research and apply programming languages, data structures, algorithms, file systems, libraries, tools, and datasets.
- Support software design, development, and debugging activities across the team.
- Troubleshoot server hardware and software, upgrade and install third-party software, and monitor system status.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
- Use bug-reporting and trouble-ticket software to investigate client and user issues with support staff.
Requirements
- Prior software development experience.
- Experience with the Linux development toolchain, including gcc/g++, make, gdb, gprof, valgrind, and Git.
- Linux system administration experience and Bash or sh scripting skills.
- Knowledge of C, C++, C#, PHP, Python, JavaScript, and other languages as needed.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, template metaprogramming, algorithms, data structures, sockets, multithreading, graphics and image generation, and regular expressions.
- Strong mathematical and communication skills and the ability to work successfully in an Agile/Scrum team environment.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
