Responsibilities

  • Provide application on-call support in 8–12-hour shifts, respond to alerts and pages, troubleshoot issues, and take corrective action.
  • Participate in incident bridges and lead investigations of severe issues affecting customer experience.
  • Review, execute, validate, and monitor changes to maintain service stability and manage risk.
  • Build alerting and monitoring solutions for services in Google Cloud Platform and other observability tools.
  • Improve reliability through blameless postmortems, service-level indicators for critical user journeys, toil reduction, and automation.
  • Support infrastructure deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and production-readiness requirements for development partners.
  • Own services and address infrastructure currency, PCI audits, capacity monitoring, cost optimization, and other KTLO work.
  • Provide technical mentorship and cultural or competency-based guidance to teams.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and CI/CD concepts.
  • Analysis, debugging, troubleshooting, persistence in problem solving, and strong collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux/UNIX, Terraform, shell scripting, and networking.
  • Familiarity with AppDynamics, Google Cloud Operations, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and Elasticsearch.
  • Experience with change management processes.
  • Very good written and verbal English communication skills, willingness to learn, and self-discipline.
  • Nice-to-have knowledge of relational databases, Oracle, Couchbase, Datastore, Spanner, Java development, Sabre change management, ServiceNow, runbooks, and Google SRE practices.
