Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end architecture for data platforms and pipelines covering scraping, extraction, transformation, storage, serving, and ML/LLM integration.
- Scale data pipelines and production systems while improving reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and data quality.
- Translate business and product requirements into data products, RFCs, problem spaces, and sequenced projects.
- Establish engineering standards for testing, evaluations, observability, data contracts, security, and production readiness.
- Lead architecture reviews, document technical patterns, mentor engineers, and improve collaboration across engineering and product functions.
- Prototype data and ML capabilities, evaluate feasibility and ROI, and make pragmatic productionization decisions.
Requirements
- 8+ years building and operating production data systems, including leading cross-cutting architectural changes and deploying LLMs at scale.
- Deep experience with Python, modern service architectures, system design, and data modeling.
- Extensive experience training and deploying machine learning models, particularly in NLP and LLM applications.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with SLOs, on-call and incident practices, observability, data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to guide, mentor, and inspire engineering teams.
