Base Salary
$230k - $367k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software and algorithms for Roku’s Entertainment Assistant.
- Design and develop high-availability, high-performance cloud-solution components.
- Own initiatives end to end from proof of concept through production.
- Build, deploy, and maintain machine-learning models and large-scale production systems.
- Work across teams, evaluate alternative solutions, and make pragmatic technical decisions.
- Take complete ownership of initiatives and contribute new ideas.
Requirements
- At least five years of industry experience applying ML/AI to NLU or a related domain, or an advanced degree with at least three years of experience.
- Experience with big-data systems including Spark, EMR, S3, and Airflow.
- Strong programming experience in Java, Python, or C++.
- Understanding of regression, classification, ranking, neural networks, and sequence models for text and speech.
- Hands-on experience building challenging large-scale production systems.
- Experience deploying and maintaining machine-learning models, including identifying appropriate KPIs and objective functions.
- Experience with advanced machine-learning techniques, including LLMs and generative AI.
- Experience building production NLU and/or ASR systems.
- Bachelor ’s degree preferred; transformer-based models in production are a plus.
- Strong computer-science fundamentals and algorithmic problem-solving ability.
