Base Salary
$160k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Manage distributed simulation workflows for large-scale testing of robotic control, planning, and perception systems.
- Architect and build scalable HD mapping workflows integrated with autonomy stacks for mapping, localization, and simulation.
- Develop infrastructure and tools for HD map creation, ingestion, storage, lifecycle management, visualization, editing, and fleet publishing.
- Define and own the Dana for Physical AI map storage format, including user interfaces, data pipelines, storage, CRUD operations, and SDKs.
- Build high-performance real-time geometric query systems for three-dimensional spatial queries.
- Support digitization of road geometry and semantic attributes from lidar, satellite imagery, aerial imagery, and street-level imagery.
- Validate map changes using mapping specifications and algorithmic quality checks.
- Troubleshoot and determine root causes of map-related simulation and on-road disengagement failures.
- Collaborate with engineers and customers to gather requirements, plan features, and create roadmaps.
- Advise customers on simulation and mapping tools for evaluating autonomy performance, safety, and robustness.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, or a related engineering field.
- At least 2 years of experience in HD mapping for autonomous vehicles, including software components or subsystems addressing mapping or localization challenges.
- At least 3 years of programming and systems experience with C++, Python, Go, JavaScript, SQL, Linux, and Git.
- Experience with scalable distributed systems, CI/CD workflows, version control, Jira, and Git-based tooling.
- Strong understanding of centimeter-precision lane-level geometry, routing, and HD map structures used in autonomous driving.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Azure, large-scale data processing, 3D geometry, distributed systems, localization sensors, point clouds, 3D visualization, browser-based map editors, and web-based 3D tooling.
- Preferred familiarity with mapping, perception, localization, planning, log-based resimulation, simulation-based validation, ROS, Unreal Engine, MATLAB, and Blender.
