Responsibilities
- Operate high-availability, fault-tolerant, scalable, distributed software in production.
- Build monitoring, tune dashboards, define alerts, and write runbooks.
- Debug and improve code while automating routine operational tasks.
- Analyze and improve service reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Communicate complex technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience operating high-availability, fault-tolerant, scalable, distributed software in production.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with public cloud offerings.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Backend engineering experience in Java, Go, or Python.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes EC2, ASG, caches, SQS, or equivalent GCP/Azure services; datastores; microservice architecture; REST/GraphQL web services and clients; and JVM, garbage collection, and performance tuning expertise.
