Responsibilities
- Own complex engineering initiatives end to end, from initial idea through measurable production outcomes.
- Design scalable backend systems that handle real-world scale and complexity.
- Make architectural decisions balancing immediate delivery with long-term sustainability.
- Bring structure to ambiguous problems and influence prioritization and trade-offs across teams.
- Raise engineering standards for quality, reliability, and accountability.
- Mentor engineers and strengthen overall team capability.
- Drive continuous improvement in how systems are built and operated.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience delivering high-impact, complex systems in production environments.
- Strong systems thinking and architectural judgment.
- Strong testing discipline and commitment to following Test-Driven Development.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, create actionable plans, and make data-informed technical decisions.
- Experience influencing beyond the immediate team and mentoring other engineers.
- Customer focus, ownership beyond individual output, and attention to measurable outcomes.
- Experience with C# and willingness to learn Kotlin and work in a JVM environment.
- Experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, or AWS Aurora Postgres is useful but not required.
- Fintech or banking experience is a plus.
