Base Salary
$170k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and operate the market-intelligence foundation for ingesting, structuring, enriching, and serving climate-market information.
- Process heterogeneous inputs including APIs, websites, registries, PDFs, spreadsheets, public disclosures, and market sources into reliable, refreshable data products.
- Build schemas, entity-resolution workflows, validation checks, provenance, freshness tracking, confidence signals, monitoring, and documentation.
- Develop AI-powered research workflows using retrieval systems, MCP tools, agents, and internal applications.
- Build APIs, internal tools, lightweight interfaces, reports, and workflow integrations for Climate Strategists, Sales, and Marketing.
- Move systems from prototype to production with observability, testing, maintainability, and operational reliability.
- Own medium-sized projects end to end and contribute to larger architectural decisions.
Requirements
- Experience shipping and maintaining production software or data systems.
- Strong software engineering ability in at least one of Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript, with solid SQL, API, and cloud-infrastructure experience.
- Experience with data ingestion, ETL/ELT, web scraping, data modeling, entity resolution, or external API integrations.
- Understanding of data trustworthiness practices including testing, monitoring, versioning, documentation, validation, provenance, and data quality.
- Experience building or operating AI- or LLM-powered systems, ideally involving retrieval, tool calling, agents, workflow orchestration, evaluation, or human-in-the-loop review.
- Ability to work across backend services, data pipelines, internal tools, and lightweight user interfaces.
- Ability to turn ambiguous user needs into prototypes and production-grade systems.
- Strong systems instincts concerning dependencies, reusable components, observability, maintainability, and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Willingness to work directly with Climate Strategists and commercial users in a small, high-ownership environment.
- Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, Gong, Zapier, n8n, BigQuery, dbt, enrichment platforms, climate markets, carbon markets, sustainability data, energy, finance, or research is a plus.
