Responsibilities
- Develop custom software components and integrate open-source code to solve complex problems using cloud and Big Data technologies.
- Design and implement core software architecture and capabilities from prototype through operational applications.
- Develop, deploy, and manage infrastructure in AWS using infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Enhance, optimize, and increase the robustness of existing codebases as a systems integrator.
- Use Kubernetes, storage layers, Linux systems, networking, and shell scripting to operate and troubleshoot complex environments.
- Work autonomously to identify and resolve problems while supporting broader strategic goals established by team architects.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required, and the role requires a current or obtainable U.S. Government security clearance; the clearance will be processed at the Secret level.
- Requires 9+ years of Platform Engineering or Go software development experience with a related bachelor’s degree, or 7 years of relevant experience with a related master’s degree, or a high school diploma/equivalent and 13 years of relevant experience.
- Experience developing and deploying infrastructure in AWS is required.
- Experience with Kubernetes or a vendor Kubernetes distribution, Ansible, and storage layers such as Ceph, Rook, or Longhorn is required.
- Strong Go programming skills and a solid understanding of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, and applications are required.
- Proficiency in Shell/Bash scripting and strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, oral communication, and written communication skills are required.
- Familiarity with DISA’s Big Data Platform or other Big Data systems, CI/CD pipelines, software development tools, Puppet, Maven, virtualization platforms, and DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certifications is preferred or may be required by the customer.
