Responsibilities
- Detect performance regressions per pull request and nightly by measuring startup, upload, print generation, and crash-rate KPIs in CI and alerting on regressions.
- Re-architect the system-test layer to run end-to-end scenarios headlessly through PreForm Server in alignment with the API team.
- Build and own a customer-file corpus pipeline that processes large batches of real customer models through slicing and support generation and compares results with baselines.
- Own Sentry triage, trend analysis, and crash root-cause attribution.
- Build crash-reproduction harnesses to help engineers resolve issues efficiently.
- Steward print regression baselines, CI flakiness, test runtimes, and golden-file management as a maintained product.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C++ for integration and system tests against PreForm internals, including understanding mesh operations, print file generation, and slicing output.
- Proficiency in Python for corpus pipelines, API-driven test drivers, result diffing, and reporting.
- Strong CI and automation experience, including Jenkins, test parallelization, flake management, and baseline or golden-file testing strategies.
- Experience with observability tools and practices, including Sentry, Amplitude, crash dashboards, and performance dashboards.
- Ability to independently define test strategy while remaining hands-on as an individual contributor.
- Desktop application testing experience is strongly preferred, including GUI automation on Windows or macOS with Squish or Qt Test-based harnesses.
- Passion for 3D printing and emerging technologies is a bonus.
- Experience in a fast-growing startup environment is a bonus.
