Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of scalable, reliable, secure, and performant cloud solutions.
- Assess existing systems and infrastructure for cloud modernization, migration, and optimization opportunities.
- Define migration strategies covering application readiness, dependency mapping, risk analysis, and cost estimation.
- Design and implement cloud security guardrails and best practices.
- Partner with software engineering teams to build scalable and resilient cloud-native services and platforms.
- Drive infrastructure automation for provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
- Establish standards for observability, performance monitoring, reliability, and cloud cost optimization.
- Lead architecture and design reviews and collaborate across engineering and other functions.
- Mentor engineers and guide teams on cloud architecture patterns, operational practices, and implementation trade-offs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing cloud solutions in a Cloud Architect, Solutions Architect, or similar role.
- Strong expertise in AWS services, cloud architecture patterns, and distributed systems design.
- Understanding of cloud security principles including IAM, network security, encryption, logging, and regulatory considerations such as GDPR.
- Experience planning and executing cloud migration or modernization initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Strong software engineering background with proficiency in Java or Go.
- Working knowledge of scripting or automation using Python, TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into practical architecture decisions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Comfort using modern AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
- Preferred: master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Preferred: experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, platform engineering, developer productivity tooling, and highly available production systems at scale.
- Preferred: familiarity with spec-driven development or AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certification.
